why Dell, why?
I am setting up these new Dells for work. I have to install service pack 3 and about 50 updates on the machine to get it ready. But it already has Microsoft Silverlight (don't want) Desktop Search (Really don't want) and Windows Live installed (fuck no)
I've been playing a bit of Champions Online (My main is a lowly 25), mainly as a break from Final Fantasy which is beginning to grind me into the ground. (It's not so much FF itself, it's life in general) This is however one of the best CO videos I've seen: And remember kids: Grind is a state of mind.

Canon (I emailed them, seeing if this was normal), will sell me a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS, which is a bitchin 10x optical zoom camera for about half price as 'customer loyalty'.
The downside, it has about a 10 second charge time itself. In fact looking around MOST if not all modern point and shoots have lousy 9-12 second flash charges. (mine started out around 8, and got slower, it's down to 12 seconds or so now).
I wonder if I could get a couple of those nice, big 10000 mAH d-cell nimh's and run an external battery pack. Those can pull 3 amps continuous... that flash would charge as fast as the limiting resistors allowed it to then. Put them on a wrist strap and it wouldn't be a big deal to lug around...
hmmm... must think on this.

camera
Well after persacon, I have decided my little Canon Powershot a530 needs replacing (the camera's ok but the flash takes for-freakin ever to charge.. and it's getting worse). If I'm getting rid of it, I checked ebay, but I don't know if selling it for $20-$40 is worth the hassle involved. I wonder if it will stream for web.. I might set it up as a 'view' webcam, now that I have broadband/always on internet. Mount in a clear weatherproof box, run power to it. Hmmm... Fri, Jul. 24th, 2009, 06:47 am

Dude, what's your problem. $5.99 bill, I paid with a $5 bill, 3 quarters, 2 dimes, and 4 pennies. The only other bills I had were twenties and up. Don't look at me like that. It took less than 20 seconds to count out the change, there was no-one behind me. I was digging through some of my digital documents. Things I've written, notes on game possibilities... Friend of mine had a stroke a month ago and he's going a bit stir crazy. Also, he's been told he needs to do something mentally 'engaging' to help his brain heal. Thought maybe some kinda RPG stuff might go over well. I've got some remarkably bad stories I wrote (and I use that term to only mean I vomited bits of something at hat at first glance appears to be coherent into a document), but a few really don't need much to be... well not finished per se, but complete, from a narrative point of view. The Happiness You Have All Demanded is Now Available Without a Perscription is even ended, complete with it's gruesome if somewhat telegraphed twist (seems too obvious to me, but then I wrote it), I just need to bridge together some of the earlier parts. (I have a tendancy to write in 'scenes' then fill in the gaps between them, rather than start at the beginning and write on through. It's probably why I suck so much at it). I may have to finish that one up one day soon. Not to let others read it, just because.

it's tooo hot
It's so hot out there, when I walked home for lunch (I'm there now), first thing I did? Not start the microwave with lunch; I took a shower. And I've got to walk back in a few. At least I've had sausage.
